About Us
History

El Proyecto del Barrio, a non-profit comprehensive human service corporation, was founded in 1971 to provide services to business industry, government and the San Fernando Valley Community, by working with small companies, major corporations, community organizations, cities, Los Angeles County and the state and federal government.

Services are provided in bilingual/bicultural (English/Spanish) comprehensive community services and advocacy to a primary target population of Latino and other economically disadvantaged youth and adults in the San Fernando Valley, Azusa and East Los Angeles.

Corporate policies are developed by a volunteer Board of Directors with social and economic roots in the areas we serve, and are implemented by professional staff members with skills ranging from planning and management to technical expertise.

El Proyecto del Barrio's philosophy and motto is "A Pride in Excellence". And it is with pride that we pay tribute to our Founding members, whose vision and dedication have made possible 40 years of leadership and commitment to the advancement of the communities they serve.
