The El Proyecto del Barrio Foundation is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) charitable organization established to support the programs and services of El Proyecto, del Barrio, Inc.
Founded in 1971, El Proyecto, Inc. provides Health and Human Services for underserved communities in the San Fernando and San Gabriel Valleys in four major areas:
• Health & Medical Services
• Employment Services for Adults and Youth
• Behavioral Health Services
• Child Development Services

El Proyecto’s Behavioral Health Program provides counseling and referrals to men and women with substance abuse and mental health problems, including specialized services for women who are pregnant, postpartum or parenting. The Program is staffed by bilingual and drug-certified counselors. It assists men and women in areas including domestic violence/sexual abuse, self-esteem, peer support, life skills, health education, drug education, 12 step/relapse, and parenting who receive treatment rather than incarceration.
